Sales Account Manager (Chemicals)

Location: South East, United Kingdom

c£up to 50k + Bonus

As Sales Account Manager you will be accountable for managing the clients relationship with a successful large account for the company  You will have the opportunity to collaborate with sales colleagues in the region and beyond and to manage our business relationship with several internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you will be responsible for translating customer needs into business opportunities for the company aligned with their business strategies.  You will work closely with other functions including Supply Chain, various Technology groups and Marketing to deliver value to our customer and to promote our brand image through our actions and support for the customer.

As sales account manager you will gain deep understanding of the customer base, be the key pivotal contact for the account and create value for our customers. This is excellent exposure to business operations including supply chain, technology technical service and marketing. This will be an opportunity to develop further interpersonal skills, commercial judgement and strategic thinking with a key account for our client.


Key Responsibilities

  • You will develop and grow multilevel relationships with the customer at all levels, underpinned by a strong reputation of integrity, and built on mutual respect and trust, understanding the customers’ needs deeply.

  • You will be translating the products value propositions to maximize margin and profit for the company.

  • Get a deep understanding of the whole value chain from customer strategy to the company product portfolio

  • You’ll be delivering the customer strategy and targets, though strong collaboration and cross functional alignment internally and externally

  • Influence the strategy and operations at the customer to help them grow their business and align them to the company’s capabilities and strengths

  • Ensuring that Market Information is best in class and delivers competitive advantage, by a clear understanding of the potential market, customers and competitors activities.

  • Ultimately you will ensure that all actions are aligned and support delivery of company strategy.

  • Any additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Preferably a graduate, business, engineering or technical degree.

  • Be comfortable speaking technically about technical queries.

  • Significant experience in a sales account management in the chemicals field

  • The highest level of ethics, integrity and attention to HSE

  • Strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills with an ability to develop personal relationships with customers and colleagues

  • Ability to translate technical information into tangible benefits for our customers and customers’ customers

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Preferred experience of identifying and implementing a strategic plan – sustainable growth.

  • Innovative thinking to spot new opportunities and to establish rapid growth within the new market place

  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
