Process Development Scientist (Fermentation/ Molecular Biology )

As part of a global chemicals organisation on a plant site as a process development scientist your primary focus of the role will be to improve the effectiveness and applicability of fermentation products by both intrinsic and extrinsic means. As an experienced molecular biologist or fermentation scientist you will manage programs for strain improvement using natural diversity and molecular methods and develop new and improve existing formulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Improve the effectiveness and applicability of products by both intrinsic and extrinsic means

  • Manage programs for strain improvement using natural diversity and molecular methods.

  • Optimization and improvement of existing fermentations and downstream processes of products.


  • Enhancing existing formulations and development of new formulations


Qualifications and Experience

You will be qualified to PhD or MSc level with a degree in Biological Sciences, molecular biology or similar. You will have a strong background in microbiology and molecular biology.

Creative thinker with ability to develop new ideas, products and processes.

Experience of supervising scientists and technicians   would be desirable.

Relevant experience in an industrial situation would be beneficial.
