The Industrial Liaison Advisor in the fuels field, you would be part of the global Industrial Liaison Leadership team which develops industrial strategy as part of overall corporate strategy, and specifically for the EU.  You would drive implementation of industrial liaison strategy for fuels and sets OEM goals from short to long term. The role supports the implementation of the Industrial Liaison strategy through engaging & influencing key decision makers. You will do this through your OEM relationships as well as Tier 1 suppliers to achieve approvals, gain insights on hardware direction and cultivating strategic OEM/Tier 1 collaborations through tripartite engagement. The role is critical to influence the OEM business strategy for Europe by developing new opportunities.


Key Accountabilities




  • Work within industry groups or directly with OEMs & Tier 1 suppliers to achieve desired IL outcomes aligned with business and / or OEM strategies

  • Provide input to the business on industry drivers, trends & needs to support the long-term planning process

  • Provide input into, and ensure appropriate implementation of, the OEM prioritisation model in day to day activity including developing and maintaining account plans

  • Attend conferences & actively participate in industry forums to provide insight into OEM trends

  • Build strong personal relationships with key decision makers in OEMs/Tier 1 suppliers and/or Industry groups to maximise leverage and influence in achieving goals

  • Input into, or work with, key OEMs and industry groups on topics of strategic significance

  • Monitor and assess competitive behaviour within industry and at OEM/Tier 1 supplier level

  • Exhibit high levels of personal ethics and integrity, to ensure legal values are never compromised

  • Support (and manage where appropriate) the development of confidentiality agreements with strategic OEMs

  • Provide and maintain up to date training material for both internal and external use relating to OEM/Industry activity

  • Manage conflicting resource demands (OEM vs. Industry vs. Internal requests)

  • Support short term business needs requiring OEM engagement

  • Builds strong personal relationships with key decision makers in EU OEMs and industry trade associations, in order to maximise leverage and influence in achieving company goals

  • Personally operates within, or oversees, senior level industry trade body representation (e.g. ATC), including development and implementation of negotiation tactics

  • Acts as a champion of OEM relationship activities within appropriate business teams


UK (South east) or EU Base (Germany)   - some flexibility around location since up to 50% travel


Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required:




  • Participate in the development and implementation internally and externally of company strategy

  • Commercial understanding and insights related to customer interactions with OEMs and industry

  • Agile working within a fast-paced, rapidly changing, multi-interfaced environment

  • Exposure to global and complex projects

  • Leadership of a team critical to enabling company brand attributes of collaboration and technology excellence

  • Commercial acumen and ability to recognise the potential commercial impact of industry or OEM actions and communicate these back to the organisation

  • Customer relationship management skills – well-networked at the OEMs, in industry trade associations

  • Experience of leading a large, geographically-spread, global team

  • Some technical formulation knowledge and/or an engineering background for credibility with OEMs.

  • Engaging and professional approach to developing customer relationships - critical skill, at the OEM/Tier 1

  • Language - English and having local working OEM language capability is preferred (German or French)
