Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Location: South East, United Kingdom

c£up to 75k Base +Bonus

As an experienced electronics/ electrical engineer (with MCU charging experience) developing products with a pivotal role in the design and development of new products global R&D organisation.  This role is responsible to lead the electrical definition, development, and delivery of system level solutions, consisting of multiple interconnected components, from different engineering disciplines for the Engineering Department device system.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead the electronics design development in the NGP Engineering Department

  • System Design Specification – work with necessary stakeholders and prepare system requirements specification including hardware and software

  • System Functional and Non-Functional Analysis – carry out a range of analysis and investigations to create the user stories for the product

  • Lead internal teams and / or development partners to define the expected system functionality targets

  • Evaluate multiple system design concepts and maintain balance between the product and its components to arrive at a harmonized solution that meets the business needs

  • System Functional and Physical Architecture development: propose new and different methods and processes to achieve product performance

  • Assist internal teams and / or development partners with product realization activities

  • Provide operations and sourcing with documentation and process development assistance to produce the product as developed

  • Investigate new technologies and stay current on new product developments in NGP markets

  • Liaise with cross category architecture teams to maintain alignment with the specified programs, as well as electrical and physical architecture

  • Working with our internal teams and / or development partners, create functional designs, demonstrating how the system satisfies the defined customer requirements

  • Product Verification and Validation – design and develop system integration plan and tests

  • Lead System Integration and test (EVT & DVT)

Knowledge, Skills Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree - e.g. electronics, electromechanical engineering, or electrical engineering (desirable)

  • Hardware electronics design- architecture work

  • MCU charging systems

  • Electronics industry maybe mobile phones, laptops, computer – connectivity and wireless mobile phone development – industrial design of the phone (consumer good desirable)

  • Working knowledge of electrical and firmware design methods

  • Experience in product development: and launching a consumer electronic product -volume production

  • Previous experience developing battery powered consumer electronics devices

  • Worked for large OEM or EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services), company in design and development

  • Working knowledge of international safety standards for consumer electronics products

  • Fluent in Electrical CAD software use
