Mechanical Design Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer who specialise in Pressure Vessel design, my client are a global British manufacturing organisation, who specialise in Precision Engineering and Special Purpose Machinery.

Salary/package up to £50,000 per annum + Benefits

Location: Bedfordshire


Job Description

Provides knowledge and experience on complex mechanical engineering issues and creates solutions to a wide range of technical issues


Carries out a variety of tasks to deliver the related engineering information to agreed schedule, quality and cost constraints


Works closely with many associated functions to ensure final engineering deliverable meets project, customer and business needs


Provides expertise to complex mechanical engineering assignments throughout the project lifecycle, providing technical support for new projects to include evaluation of requirements and implications.


Meets relevant engineering standards whilst ensuring compliance with customer specifications and governing code requirements


Creates project/job pack documentation for engineering handover to projects team. Provide documentation to support bid activity.


Performs mechanical component development, selection and integration whilst using CAD concepts


Incorporates DfM and assembly in all designs, performs value analysis during design phase.


Co-ordinates with other engineers on day-to-day activities







Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.


Must have a good working knowledge of designing pressure vessels


Must have understanding of ASME codes and PD 5500


A working knowledge of 3D modelling and FEA tools (ideally Inventor and ANSYS)
